What students like the most

As a city centre university, students at Bocconi have easy access to all that Milan has to offer: The university is close to Navigli, one of Milan's best nightlife spots, which centres around Porta Ticinese and the meetings of the city’s canals. As well as the multitude of bars and restaurants in the area, you can find Circle, a chillout club, popular on Tuesdays. Closer to the campus you can find Magazzini Generali, a house club, and practically on the doorstep is Lime Light, formerly a cinema, very popular with Bocconi students. For more cultural offerings, it’s worth remembering that as well as being a global fashion centre, Milan is a city with 2000 years of history. In Santa Maria delle Grazie, you can find Da Vinci’s The Last Supper, and the church isn’t too bad either. And let’s not forget the magnificent white-marble Duomo, or the many other beautiful religious buildings across the city. Also check out Castello Sforzesco, a spectacular medieval fortress-cum-art museum. Closer to home, the university also hosts regular cultural events. To study, visit the University library or Biblioteca Tibaldi, a large public library. Nearby are several large parks, each one a great excuse to get out of your bedroom and study in more enjoyable, sociable environs. Also nearby are football (soccer) and basketball facilities, both provided by the university.

What students don´t like

Lack of privacy and space in Universita Bocconi student halls, hard to blend in if you don not speak a lot of Italian.

What we like the most

  • Bocconi offers a comprehensive degree programme for international students, with the majority of undergraduate degrees on offer taught in English. Scholarships and financial aid programmes are available for both Italian nationals and international students, based on academic merit and financial situation. Bocconi University is rated 10th in the world for Business and Management subjects and 22nd for Social Sciences and Management by QS Top Universities (2016).

Things to keep in mind

  • As a private university, Bocconi is quite expensive, and although accessible to people from less advantaged backgrounds, the majority of students are likely to come from quite privileged families. Of course this is not a problem, but it may be a culture shock for people from other backgrounds to hear of fellow students with personal chefs.
