This is a modern 1st floor, 1-bedroom apartment on Via Luigi Mercantini, Milan. It's compact and cosy, with fashionable furnishings and a lovely balcony.

We think this apartment is perfect for a young professional couple. Get outside the tourist hustle and into one of Milan's up-and-coming creative hubs. Smoker? You can puff away on the balcony.

What we liked the most

  • Throwing open the doors to the balcony – let in the sounds of the city.
  • Relaxing in the stylish kicthen/ living – compact but functional.
  • Exploring the local restaurants – try Trattoria Bruschetteria Chiesa Vecchia, it's just down the road.

Things to keep in mind

  • There is a common area washing machine available but no dryer – no probs, air dry your underwear on the balcony.
  • There is no oven in the kitchen. There is a stove and a microwave though, so you can still show off your chef skills.
  • The sofa in the living area can be used as a bed; ideal if you have guests.
